Clones Holiday UpdateDec 21, 2010 - 0 Comments
Greetings CloneMasters! Clones was launched on Nov 19th 2010, and a lot has happened since then that we think you should know about! Here’s a quick look at what’s going on:
Clones SaleFor those of you still playing the demo now is your chance to take advantage of a clonetastic deal! During the holidays Clones will be a whopping 50% off the regular price, that’s right, you can buy it now for the low price of only $4.99! Clones is the perfect gift for that deep-thinking friend, or puzzle-loving family member :) Clones is now available from Steam, D2D, and the newly launched Clones Store. All purchases made from the Clones Store directly support indie game development, so if you choose this option we thank you greatly. Clones Patch 1.26 ReleasedWe are continuously striving to make the Clones experience the best that it can be. Since launch we’ve released two patches that have fixed some bugs, addressed some usability issues, and added new features. The biggest change is that we’ve included full solutions to most of the singleplayer puzzles which you can view by clicking Menu->Show Solution while playing the level. You can watch these solutions if you get stuck, or just to compare with your own solution. It is important to keep your copy of Clones up to date because only the latest version of the game will work with the leaderboards and rankings, and older versions cannot play with newer versions in online multiplayer. Click here to see all the details of what has changed in version 1.26. If you come across any glitches in the game, please post about it in our forums and we will try to fix it as soon as we can. CloneStats NewsThe total number of multiplayer matches played since launch is now over 10,000. Just think about how many clones have gone supernova! On the singleplayer side gamers like you have logged over half a million attempts at puzzles. That’s a lot of brain workouts, imagine all that mental energy! These numbers seem to show that most players only try out the singleplayer part of the game, and are missing out on the exciting multiplayer action. You should really try out multiplayer if you haven’t done so already, it’s a lot of fun and easy to do, simply find a server online by clicking “Find Tournament” in game, or host a server yourself and wait for other players to join. We want to give a special mention to the Top Ten singleplayer rankings for really pushing the limits of what is possible for each level. Awesome stuff!
Clones Mutliplayer JamFor the first time ever, we are going to have an official “Clones Multiplayer Jam” on Wednesday Dec 22nd 2010 from 10:00 EST to 22:00 EST. To participate simply join an existing server or host your own. If you’ve created a custom multiplayer level, you can host it as well since custom levels are automatically sent to anyone who joins, and they cannot edit the level afterwards. We want to get as many mutiplayer games going in one day as possible! Free Puzzles for DownloadOne of our members, NovaClaft, has shared his set of 10 puzzles for you to download and try! The “Mikau's SP Level Pack 1” package can be downloaded here. Note that you have to be logged in to download a package. Once downloaded, double-click the package to install it. To play these extra levels, start Clones and click “Pilgrimage” then check in the “User Generated Mode” checkbox on the top right of the screen and select the newly installed package. Future PlansOur plan is to keep supporting our growing community of Clones players by fixing any problems that arise in the game by creating timely patches, releasing new downloadable content, and adding support for additional languages. If you like Clones and would like to see us continue to make the game better you can help out in the following ways: Lastly we want to wish everyone a Merry Clonesmas, a Happy Hanukklone, and we hope your holiday season is full of smiles and lasting memories. - The Clones Dev Team Add Comment
